Debbi Lane, BA
CEO & Founder
Debbi is an accomplished nonprofit consultant with over two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector. She partners with small to mid-sized nonprofits to provide comprehensive business development solutions that increase funding, deepen stakeholder relationships, and expand community impact. Her firm has successfully raised over $20 million in partnership with nonprofit clients, often serving as their complete development team. Her passion for this work stems from a personal experience with a nonprofit during a family crisis that completely changed her career path from IT professional to a dedicated nonprofit advocate.
Debbi's diverse professional background includes serving as IT Director for a 110-employee home health agency, overseeing major technology implementations. In previous roles, she gained comprehensive business management experience, where she managed multi-unit accounts exceeding $800k in sales and exceeded budgeted goals by 43% while reducing operating expenses. Earlier in her career, she developed financial applications and provided technical support for corporate finance operations. She has served on non-profit boards and volunteered extensively with numerous nonprofits. Debbi holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.

Brandon Robbins, MPA
Business Development & Training Manager
Brandon brings a unique dual perspective to Magic Lamp Consulting as both a nonprofit Executive Director and team member. With a Master of Public Administration from UMass Lowell and extensive experience in nonprofit leadership. He currently serves as Executive Director of a community-focused nonprofit organization while also working with Magic Lamp Consulting. This combination gives him invaluable insight into both sides of the consulting relationship. He understands what nonprofit leaders need and has experienced firsthand the impact that effective consulting can make.
Brandon's background includes extensive experience in nonprofit operations, grant management, donor development, and community outreach programs. His political experience as an elected City Councilor and former School Committee Vice Chair adds another layer to his understanding of community needs and stakeholder relationships. His earlier roles as a Legislative Aide and Campaign Manager further developed his skills in constituent relations and strategic communication.
Kunal Mehta, MSF, MBA
Financial Analyst
Kunal brings over fifteen years of financial management experience and a genuine appreciation for the important work nonprofits do in their communities. With advanced degrees in Finance and Business Administration, he understands that numbers tell stories, and for nonprofits, those stories need to demonstrate both impact and fiscal responsibility to attract funders and build trust with stakeholders.
At Magic Lamp Consulting, Kunal enjoys the challenge of taking complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate organizational health impact. He works closely with nonprofit clients to develop comprehensive budgets that accurately reflect their program costs, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and present financial information in ways that inspire confidence among boards, donors, and grant-making organizations. Whether utilizing his expertise in creating program-specific budgets, calculating cost-per-participant metrics that showcase efficiency, or conducting financial analyses that support strategic decision-making, Kunal focuses on helping nonprofits make data-driven decisions that support both their mission and their sustainability.
Ruth Kuria, BBA
Administrative Assistant & Grant Writer
Ruth is a talented and multi-skilled team member who brings extensive administrative and project management skills to the Magic Lamp Consulting team. With a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from St. Paul's University and her years of experience supporting Magic Lamp Consulting, she has developed a deep understanding of nonprofit organizational needs.
Ruth's proven ability to work with multiple organizations simultaneously has honed her skills in managing concurrent projects while maintaining the attention to detail essential for successful grant writing and compliance with funder requirements. She practices meditation and mindfulness, bringing a calm and centered approach to her work, benefitting both Magic Lamp Consulting and the nonprofit clients she serves.
Christian Norton, BSE
IT Analyst
Christian brings a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a passion for using technology to help nonprofits succeed. He joined Magic Lamp Consulting after completing the VIP program at Visions Internships, where he discovered how much he enjoys working with organizations to make a real difference in their communities.
At Magic Lamp Consulting, Christian handles the behind-the-scenes technical work that keeps everything running smoothly. He manages the Microsoft 365 systems, sets up client portals, and creates automated processes that save time for both the team and clients.
Christian's background includes everything from cybersecurity research at UMass, where he built network systems to test real-world threats, to running his own tech support business, helping clients with computer repairs and upgrades. Christian also has a creative side, having worked as a graphic designer, creating social media graphics and packaging designs for small businesses. Whether he's managing our internal systems, optimizing our website for better search results, or building client portals that make it easier for nonprofits to access their information, Christian enjoys creating technical solutions that help Magic Lamp Consulting better serve its nonprofit clients.
Garrett Mallinson
IT & Development Specialist
Garrett brings a unique combination of cybersecurity knowledge and grant writing skills to the Magic Lamp Consulting Team. With cybersecurity studies at Champlain College and hands-on experience in educational technology environments, he specializes in grant writing while providing essential IT support for Magic Lamp Consulting's internal operations, including hardware setup, system troubleshooting, and secure account management. His technical background ensures reliable internal systems while he focuses primarily on developing compelling grant proposals for nonprofit clients.
As an Eagle Scout, Garrett developed strong leadership skills and a commitment to community service that aligns perfectly with the nonprofit sector. His experience in student accounts and financial operations provides him with a thorough understanding of confidentiality regulations and the meticulous attention to detail required for both grant writing and financial accuracy. This combination of technical acumen and financial operations experience makes him a valuable asset in developing comprehensive grant proposals that meet funder requirements and compliance standards.
Morgan Parisse
Grant Writing Intern
Morgan brings together her marketing knowledge and natural storytelling ability in her role as Grant Writing Intern at Magic Lamp Consulting. A Marketing major at Clark University and editor of the university's school newspaper, she started with the team as a Marketing Intern. She discovered how well her journalism skills translated into grant writing. Her talent for storytelling and ability to research thoroughly and write clearly make her particularly effective at crafting grant proposals that capture funders' attention.
At Magic Lamp Consulting, Morgan enjoys the challenge of understanding nonprofit programs and translating them into clear, persuasive proposals that demonstrate real impact. Her marketing education enables her to understand what resonates with different audiences, while her experience as a newspaper editor ensures that every grant application is polished and professional. Whether she's interviewing clients about their program to understand their story or crafting the perfect opening paragraph for a grant proposal, she approaches each task with the curiosity and attention to detail that good journalism requires.

Joanne brings a talent for analyzing and improving business processes to Magic Lamp Consulting. A Marketing major at Clark University, she discovered her superpower lies in identifying inefficiencies and developing solutions that make organizations run more smoothly. This analytical mindset led her to transition from marketing roles to her current position as Business Analyst Intern.
At Magic Lamp Consulting, Joanne has progressed through multiple internships, each building on her growing expertise. She started as a Marketing Analyst Intern, developing strategic marketing plans for clients, creating social media graphics, and annual reports. She then moved to Marketing Administrator Intern, where she focuses on mapping out processes and making recommendations to streamline and improve operations. Her ability to step back, analyze how things currently work, and design better systems makes her particularly valuable in optimizing workflows.

A recent graduate with a Master's degree in Business Analytics from Clark University, she joined the team as a Business Analyst Intern and has since progressed to her current role, focusing on marketing strategy and social media support for Magic Lamp Consulting's nonprofit clients.

Adwait brings a strong analytical mindset and extensive business intelligence experience to the Magic Lamp Consulting team. A recent graduate with a Master of Science in Information Technology, he is currently focused on developing and managing Magc Lamp Consulting's SharePoint Intranet system to streamline internal operations and improve team collaboration.

His work involves designing user-friendly interfaces and implementing workflows that save time for consultants and grant writers. His background in business analysis, data visualization, and process automation, combined with his teaching assistant experience, makes him effective in creating technical solutions that make the team's jobs easier.
